Food Bank UK Project
The UK is grappling with a food crisis, leaving many families unable to afford basic necessities. In December 2022, The Xanda Foundation provides hundreds of meals through family hampers.
Fighting Mosquitoes, Protecting Futures
Mosquitoes pose a severe threat to the health and well-being of the African population, being the primary carriers of life-threatening diseases like malaria, dengue, and yellow fever. In Africa, malaria is one of the deadliest diseases, with the World Health Organization (WHO) reporting that in 2022, over 600,000 people lost their lives to malaria, with around 95% of cases and deaths occurring in sub-Saharan Africa. Children under five are particularly vulnerable, making up around 80% of all malaria deaths in the region. In addition to malaria, mosquitoes spread other illnesses, putting millions at risk of severe illness or death. The impact of these diseases goes beyond health, contributing to economic hardships as families face medical bills and missed work, while the broader economy suffers due to the loss of productivity. The fight against mosquito-borne diseases is critical for safeguarding Africa’s future and well-being.
Thanks to your generous donations, The Xanda Foundation has made a powerful impact in the battle against mosquito-borne diseases and other life-threatening challenges in vulnerable communities. We were able to distribute 5,000 water purification tablets to ensure access to clean drinking water, and provide 200 life-saving meals to vulnerable children in need. With your support, we administered tetanus vaccines to 500 children, deworming tablets to 1,000 children, and life-saving salts to help at least 200 children recover from severe dehydration. We also delivered mosquito nets to protect 9 families from malaria, installed a clean water pump for an entire village, and provided polio vaccines to safeguard 100 children from this crippling disease. Your contributions have truly transformed lives and brought hope to those who need it most. Thank you.
