Buea Pikin Project

A mother should be able to enjoy the birth and early stages of their new child and not have to stress about the financials. From medical bills and necessary medication to necessity items and education, we help them keep their hopes and dreams alive.

Giving Hope To Cameroon

In Cameroon, widespread poverty and limited opportunities make giving birth and raising a child extremely challenging for many families. Basic medical care, including childbirth, is often unaffordable, especially in the Southwest region where the ongoing Anglophone crisis has worsened conditions. This conflict has displaced thousands and disrupted access to healthcare, education, and livelihoods, leaving mothers struggling to care for their children.

Leading up to December 2023, The Xanda Foundation purchased essential baby items such as diapers, baby food, and bottles, which are often overpriced or scarce in Cameroon. We shipped them to Buea and created Christmas gift bags for the mothers at Mount Mary Hospital. During our visit, we also paid the medical bills for the mothers and gave a donation to the midwives, doctors, and nurses. Our efforts supported 9 mothers and 10 newborn babies.

For December 2024, we plan to extend our support to both Mount Mary Hospital and an additional hospital in Buea. We also aim to launch a scholarship program to give children access to an education by covering fees and providing school supplies, giving them a chance to succeed despite their circumstances. Your donations are crucial in making all of this possible, bringing hope to mothers and children in Cameroon, one donation at a time. Thank you.
